When our daughter started working with Kate; she was a year behind, she was struggling to make friends and was beginning to hate school. One year later our daughter has closed the gap, has found her social groove and is sad to see the school year end. None of this would have been possible without Kate. While, of course, the tutoring is amazing and our daughter really took to it, that is just one part of it. Kate “unlocked” our daughter. She figured out what made her tick socially, emotionally and academically. She became our daughters biggest advocate outside of me and her father. Kate seamlessly worked with the teachers, the school administration, the resource teachers and our physicians. Kate was also a huge support for me. She gave me ways to learn about our daughters disability and talked me through all of my questions and “mom meltdown moments”. She was always available. Lastly, Kate keeps us laughing, just when we are ready to throw in the towel; Kate sends us a funny video or txt to remind us that, we aren’t alone! Our family would be lost without her.
