My hope here is to provide you with clear and accurate information about learning disabilities and common terminology you've likely come across and may be wondering about.

We offer tutoring, advocacy, college counseling, and teacher workshops to serve dyslexic individuals in elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as in colleges and in the workplace.

Dysgraphia has many faces. Students may have difficulty getting their ideas onto paper for a number of reasons. Students may have difficulty with the actual motoric act of writing or they may have trouble with the linguistic, organizational, or procedural aspects of producing written language. Our writing coaches use a wide variety of techniques and strategies to assist students in their efficiency and effectiveness as writers of the English language. We also train students in the use of technological tools and APPs that will promote writing skills. We train students in Diana King's "Keyboarding Skills" to help them become more efficient in the typing process.

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder has multiple impacts on a child’s educational experiences. Difficulties in memory and organizational skills affect long-term learning of subject matter. Students often underachieve in traditional educational settings. A combination of psychological, medical, and educational professionals work together at Kate Pearce Educational Services to help students to reach their highest academic potential in school. We offer “fly-on-the-wall” school observations to measure “on-task” and “off-task” behavior analysis to better understand the student’s ability to function in a classroom setting. We offer Executive Function Coaching, study skills tutoring, and subject based tutoring to assist in their specific areas of need.

Many of our students need assistance in math. We use multisensory approaches in math to help students of all ages to master concepts. Some of our students have Dyscalculia; others simply need some minor help and support in learning mathematical concepts. We use manipulative math materials to illustrate mathematical concepts.

Students with dyscalculia are affected in a variety of ways. Students may know "what" to do, but do not always know "why" they are doing it. Our tutors use strategies and techniques to build solid "number sense". We assess the individual needs of each student and ensure that we fill in their gaps.We also offer SAT and ACT Math support for students. We specialize in helping students who are having difficulty mastering the mathematical skills that are necessary for successful performance on these tests.

Speech/Language Pathologists work on articulation, word retrieval, verbal formulation, syntax, oral-motor skills and vocabulary development with our students. Tutors and Speech/Language Pathologist collaborate to develop meaningful educational plans for students with oral language difficulties.
